Dolores Lebron aka Lolita directed the only ever armed attack on  US congress on March 1st. 1954.  Along with three other gunmen she is Sentenced to Death. When asked why she did it she replies "Clamor of freedom for my country".While serving 25 years in Federal Prison her son of 8yrs drowns in a river , her eldest daughter kills herself because of an abusive husband and her granddaughter is committed to an asylum.  She is released in 1981 and continues to fight and protest (this time peacefully) in the company of Hillary Clinton, James Edward Almos and Rev. Al Sharpton on the Island of Vieques for the removal of the US Nuclear  Military Marine Base.  She is again arrested and does sixty days.  But the people of Puerto Rico win and the US Base is shut down in 2005.  "I think times have changed, and there is no need now to kill for freedom," -Lolita Lebron ~1919-2010
